Work Hardening is delivered in a 4-week program that begins at 4 hours per day and progresses up to 8 hours per day, 3 - 5 days per week. The program is designed to return injured workers to previously identified employment with the skills necessary for successful re-employment. A specific work goal is required for admittance to this program.
Work hardening is highly structured, multi-disciplinary and individualized for each worker. The program consists of simulated or real work tasks, conditioning exercises and education to restore physical, behavioral and vocational functions.
