Olympic Sports & Spine History

The Home Team

Olympic Sports & Spine Rehabilitation (OSSR) was founded in 1984.  Owned and operated by local physical therapists from the beginning, the connection to our communities is both long-standing and multi-faceted. The same team that owned and operated OSSR now owns and operates OSS.  OSS’s operations are indistinguishable from a nimble, responsive private practice, connected and committed to every OSS employee and patient.

In contrast to large, out of state corporate rehabilitation practices, OSS’s ownership and entire management team lives here. Our homes are here. Our kids have gone to school here. We are involved in local sports leagues, teach at The University of Puget Sound, and support local charitable organizations that serve our communities. Most importantly, we are committed to being here.  Our 300-plus employees call this area home and we embrace the obligation to provide them with the means and resources to thrive, and in turn, contribute in their own ways to our communities.

MultiCare shares this commitment. It has made its home here in the South Puget Sound since 1882! MultiCare is a not-for-profit health care organization that’s been caring for communities in Washington state since the founding of Tacoma’s first hospital about 140 years ago. With more than 20,000 team members, including employees, providers and volunteers, it has grown into a comprehensive system of health care that serves patients from around the Pacific Northwest.

One Patient at a time...All the Time

One-On-One

OSS is distinguished by its commitment to One-On-One care. At OSS, patients are cared for one at a time and our providers don’t delegate care to aides or techs.

Every patient at OSS is seen by a licensed rehab professional for the full duration of every visit. It’s obvious to us; patients get better when they receive the undivided attention of the best qualified providers.

Quality Matters

A Continuous Investment in Clinical Quality

Olympic Sports & Spine Rehabilitation set the standard. Since its founding in 1984, and continuing today as OSS, the continuous investment in the clinical development of all providers is a centerpiece of the practice.  As much as anything else, OSS’s culture is defined by the pursuit of clinical excellence and the commitment to teaching and learning. This culture is characterized by:

Superior Outcomes

Results matter.  And due to our investment in the clinical development of our team and our commitment to a one-on-one care model, OSS patients simply get more from therapy. OSS boasts industry leading clinical outcomes, surpassing national norms in every measured category. Whether the objective is the recovery of essential functional daily activities, the alleviation of pain, or the return to work or an active lifestyle, patients get better at OSS.

When it comes to patient satisfaction, the results are in. Patients continue to give our services exceptionally high marks (all ratings on a 0-10 scale)
